Biography
LEICESTER/HOLDEN – Carol Frances Lupienski, 72, formerly of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born and raised in Holden, Carol was the daughter of the late Julian and Sophie (Arachikavitz) Lupienski and lived most of her life in Jefferson before moving to Leicester in 2002.
Carol was a 1962 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and worked many years at Templeton Developmental Center in Baldwinville prior to her retirement in 2001. Previously, she worked at Rutland Height’s Hospital in Rutland until its closing in 1991.
She was extremely outgoing and could hardly wait to deliver the punch line of a recently learned joke. Carol’s interests included crocheting, needlework with crewel, and reading. She also enjoyed attending antique auctions and discovering the latest flea market to peruse.
Carol will be affectionately missed and remembered by her three brothers, Julian S. Lupienski and his wife, Nancy of Gales Ferry, CT, Michael A. Lupienski of Jefferson, and Edward E. Lupienski of Virginia Beach, VA; her sister, Sophie G. Sandberg and her husband, William of Princeton; many nephews and nieces.
A funeral service honoring Carol’s life will be held privately at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Interment will be at Grove Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carol’s name to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
