PRINCETON - Carol Anne (McKeon) Connors, 81, of Princeton, died peacefully in her home on November 1st, 2018.
She was born on Christmas eve of 1936 in Queens, New York to the late Thomas and Evelyn (Smith) McKeon. Carol graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, N.J. in 1955 where she met her husband, Philip I. Connors, and attended their high school prom together. She attended Katharine Gibbs in NYC and worked at NBC before marrying Phil in 1959. Carol and Phil later settled in Silver Spring, MD. While raising their 3 children she developed her creative passion with sewing, and had a small business making pinafores for a boutique in Georgetown, MD. She enjoyed macrame, furniture refinishing and upholstering and a variety of other art mediums. After the family moved to Princeton, MA in 1978 Carol pursued a Fine Arts Degree from Mt. Wachusett Community College, completing a BA in Fashion Design and Textiles at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She designed costumes for First Night Celebrations in Boston and worked as the window decorator at Goodnow Pearsons in Gardner. She later established Carol Connors Designs, operating her own Bridal Boutique out of her home, where she specialized in antique gowns and restoration. Carol was an avid gardener, doll maker and collector, as well as collector of natures treasures leaving behind many beautiful shells, pinecones and leaves. Carol developed Parkinsons Disease in her 40's, yet did not let this prevent her from her pursuits. Her fierce determination and strong will was an example to us all to persevere without complaint and absolutely enjoy life to its fullest.
Carol was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, and leaves a son, Philip & his wife Janet of Princeton; two daughters, Mary Ann & Peter Schunemann of Hollis, N.H, and Christine & William Whearty of Meredith, N.H.; nine grandchildren: Tracy and Thomas Connors; David, Amy, Stephen and Joseph Schunemann; Connor & his wife Sarah, Patrick, and Caitlyn Whearty; her brother Thomas and Jane McKeon of Huntington, CT, many nieces and nephews, friends and beloved caregivers.
