GREENFIELD - Carmen M. (Hamel) Luksha, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 25, 1953, in Germany, the daughter of Robert and Margrit (Frentzel) Hamel.
Carmen's early years were spent in Sterling, where she attended local grade schools and later graduated from Wachusett Regional High School. She continued her education at Quinsigamond Community College, further enriching her knowledge and experiences.
Carmen married Joseph Luksha, and together they grew their family with the births of their children, Joseph, Jason, and Victoria. She cherished her role as a homemaker and found great joy in the time she spent with her children.
Throughout her life, Carmen could often be found engaging in her favorite activities, such as delving into her Pagan practices, exploring the art of herbalism, and embarking on numerous adventures as an avid traveler across the United States. As an eclectic woman with a wide range of interests, her dedication to these passions brought her great joy and fulfillment, and she continued to immerse herself in these pursuits throughout her life.
Carmen is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Margrit Hamel, her sister, Barbara J. Hamel, and her son, Joseph M. Luksha III.
Surviving Carmen are her children, Jason Luksha and his fiancé, Jennifer Johnson of Venice, FL, and Victoria Luksha of Northfield; her beloved grandchildren, Jesselyn Luksha and Lindsey Luksha, her two great-grandchildren, and many cherished cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
