Carlos Martins

Biography

WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Carlos Martins, 91, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at the Jewish Healthcare Center on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after an illness.  Carlos was the son of Antonio and Jacquelyn (Lopes) Martins and was educated in Portugal before moving to the United States.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Anthony C. Martins and his wife, Elizabeth of Southborough; his daughter, M. Elizabeth Pendleton and her husband, Robert of Holden; a sister, Maria Caramelo of Rocky Hill, CT; four grandchildren, Anthony, Audette and Patrick Martins, and Julianne Winans; as well as four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Casey Martins and Katharyn and Gregory Winans.
Carlos was a forman for Henley Lungren Construction Company for many years.  He was a former member of St. Stephens Church in Worcester and a member of the Labors Union Local 243.  In his spare time he enjoyed tending to his garden.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Carlos’ family from 11-12 p.m. on Monday, July 17, followed by a Funeral Service in Celebration of his Life, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.  Interment will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.  To share a memory or offer an online condolence, please visit our "Guest Book" here on this page.
