WORCESTER – Caileigh K. Armatruda, 13, of 4 Dellwood Road died unexpectedly Monday, September 27, 2004. She leaves her mother Rose E. (Duffy) Hayes and stepfather James Hayes with whom she lived; her father, Joseph J. Armatruda III of Rutland; her grandparents, Thomas Duffy of Leominster, Joseph J. Armatruda, Jr. of Holliston and Jean Hayes of Sherwood, AR; aunts and uncles, David Duffy, Michael and Shari Duffy all of Leominster, Dianne Duffy of South Yarmouth, Julia and Gary Pukatch of South Windsor, CT, Kathleen and Kenny Roberts of Franklin, John and Lisa Hayes of North Little Rock, AR, Jeffrey Hayes of Alexandria, VA; many cousins and friends. Her grandmothers, Norma (Miller) Kelley and Grace (Cannon) Armatruda, predeceased her.
Caileigh loved hanging out with friends, going to the movies, skiing, camping, fishing, boating, archery, basketball, swimming and lacrosse. She enjoyed traveling especially to the beaches of Cape Cod and Maine. She graduated from Our Lady of the Angels School in 2004 and was a freshman at St. Peter-Marian High School. She was a member of Christ the King Church CYC and also St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland. She loved sports, and participated in the basketball program at Girls Inc. She attended the basketball and lacrosse camps at Assumption College and hoped to one day be on their team. She was also involved in First Night Worcester, volunteering at many events over the years.
The funeral Mass for Caileigh will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 1, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Memorial contributions may be made to First Night Worcester, P.O. Box 351, Worcester, MA 01614 (to establish a fund that will be allocated by the Youth Council which Caileigh was in the process of developing); or the United Way of Central Mass. Fund, Positive Youth Development, 484 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
