BOYLSTON - Warren “Bud” B. Fisher, 75, a resident of Boylston for 49 years, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester following an illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly A. (Parker) Fisher; a devoted son and his wife, Brent J. and Jill A. (Christenson) Fisher of Worcester; beloved granddaughters, Lindsay A., Christie E. and Sarah A. Fisher; three nephews, several cousins and his mother-in-law Maisie Parker. He is also survived by his widowed daughter-in-law Brenda (Bates) Fisher and her daughters Jennifer and Chelsea Brindisi. He was predeceased by a son, Bradley C. Fisher in 2004, a brother, Gene R. Fisher, and a half-brother in Sweden, Rolf Fischer.
Mr. Fisher was born in Worcester, son of the late Fritz E. Fisher and Esther M. (Carlson) Fisher. He graduated from High School of Commerce, and following three years of service with the U.S. Army (24th Division) in Japan and Korea continued his education at Clark University. He also served as a Master Sgt. in the National Guard for three years. He worked for over 40 years at the Duncan M. Gillies Co., Inc. in West Boylston as an engraver and General Manager, retiring in 1997. He served five years on the Tahanto Regional High School Scholarship Committee and seven years on the Boylston Cub Scout and Boy Scout Committees. He was also a Weblos leader. He was a member of First Congregational Church in West Boylston, the Worcester County Horticultural Society, and a former member of the National Wire Association. Bud enjoyed fishing, camping, music and reading, and was an accomplished cook.
A memorial service for Mr. Fisher will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30th, in the First Congregational Church, 26 Central Street, West Boylston. Private burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to First Congregational Church, 26 Central Street, West Boylston 01583; or to the Boylston Firefighters/Ambulance Assoc., P.O. Box 634, Boylston, MA 01505. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
