HOLDEN – Bruno Fritz Koppetsch, 85, died peacefully and surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester. He was born in the town of Neuwalde, East Prussia, Germany, one of eight children of Hermann and Emilie Koppetsch. In January 1945, he and his family fled East Prussia for Hamburg where they found a new home. He had lived in Canada and Worcester before moving to Holden. As a young man Bruno attended trade school and developed a talent as a tailor. The patience and precision with which he learned to sew carried over into all aspects of his life and helped him succeed. He married Edith (Danneberg) in 1970 and later the couple settled in Holden. Bruno worked for the former Astra Pharmaceutical Products, Inc., retiring as a chemist in 1996. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Worcester where he taught Sunday School for several years. Bruno loved cooking for his family and took pride in the way he cared for his home and his property. He will be deeply missed. Bruno leaves his beloved wife of 48 years, Edith (Danneberg) Koppetsch of Holden; his son, Karsten Koppetsch of Woburn; and his daughter, Birgit Koppetsch of Holden.
