BOYLSTON - Bruce A. Palmer of Boylston died peacefully on Dec. 3, 2022 at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester, three days after his 90th birthday. He leaves Sandra Bass of Pinola, Miss., Bruce D. Palmer of Worcester, and Brian and Carol (Palmer) Rossetti of Brookfield. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Ferrandino) Palmer; and brothers Donald and Kenneth Palmer. He was the son of Alexander Shaw Palmer and Lenore (Cutler) Palmer.
Bruce attended North High School in Worcester and served in the U.S. Army in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he built his family’s home in Boylston, where he lived until his passing. There he and Evelyn raised their family and later were loving grandparents to Olivia and Cameron Rossetti.
Bruce enjoyed home projects, tending to the lawn, and fishing at the family camp in Jefferson, Maine. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Boylston Golf Association, played semi-pro baseball in Worcester and had a lifelong interest in aviation. He and Evelyn were active in Boylston Lassie League. He was a prolific reader and frequent visitor of the Boylston Public Library. In later years, he enjoyed time with his coffee buddies at Wagner’s Service Station.
Bruce was a machinist at Norton Company and Warner & Swasey. He completed his career in the maintenance department of Northeast Savings Bank. Bruce worked hard on the job and at home, a trait passed on to his children. He was loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.
