Princeton – Bruce Alden Gray, 88, died peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2022, at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus, Worcester. He was born in Syracuse, NY, the son of James and Ruth (O’Connor) Gray, and grew up in Parish, NY.
Bruce graduated from Onondaga High School and went on to attend Syracuse University where he played lacrosse and football. Bruce proudly served in the U.S. Army before embarking on his career as a Manufacturer’s Representative in the Commercial Refrigeration Industry. He married the love of his life, the late Edwina M. (Garvey) in 1960 with whom he shared 55 years of marriage and raised two children with.
Bruce was a long-time member of St. Martin DePorres Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. He had a passion for sporting clays and was also a proud member of the Vintagers Order of Edwardian Gunners. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
Bruce was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edwina M. (Garvey) Gray in 2016. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his son, James Gray, and his partner, Renee Horgan of Princeton; his daughter, Hilary Gray of Ewing, NJ; and his grandchildren, Ginger and Eva Gray. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Gray and Donald Gray; and his sister, Jeanne Chesbro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Prince of Peace Church, 1 Worcester Rd., Princeton, MA at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
