Bristol P. Laporte

BOYLSTON – Bristol P. LaPorte, 75, of 2 Mary Ann Drive, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Marlene J. (Merrill) LaPorte; two nephews, Gary Merrill of York, Maine, and Stephen Merrill of Wells, Maine; a niece, Jody A. Stephens of York, Maine; and a goddaughter, Elizabeth Myra of Rutland. He was born in Clinton and raised in Berlin, the son of Arthur and Ethel (Mills) LaPorte, and later lived 40 years in Boylston. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Mr. LaPorte graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School and worked 50 years for O.S. Walker Comany in Worcester. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Worcester and the Boylston Senior Citizens. He loved cattle auctions, photography and traveling.

A private service with military honors will be held in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. Memorial donations may be to the First Assembly of God Church, 30 Tyler Prentice Road, Worcester, MA 01605. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
