RUTLAND – Ernest “Brien” B. Briggs, 47, of 2 Bushy Lane, died at home after an illness on Wednesday, November 14, 2007.
He leaves two sons, Brien E. and Sean M. Briggs and a daughter, Samantha M. Briggs all of Rutland; his mother, Judith L. (O’Brien) Briggs of Barnstable; a sister, Tracey E. Briggs-Annetts of Rutland; the mother of his children, Arlene M. Wood of Holden; many nephews and nieces. A sister, Kelley A. Briggs, died in 1986. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Ernest H. Briggs, raised in Princeton and has lived in Rutland for the last 16 years. He attended Wachusett Regional High School and linemen school.
He was a lineman for the transmission department at National Grid. Previously he worked for the Town of Princeton Light Department. He was a member of IBEW Local Union 104 and was an avid outdoorsman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Connor Lane, Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Briggs Children Family Fund, c/o Leominster Credit Union, 715 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
