RUTLAND – Brad Taylor McAvey, 21, of Main Street, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He was born in Worcester, the son of Laurie K. Borggaard of Rutland and Martin McAvey of Worcester.
Besides his parents, Brad is survived by his two brothers, Spencer McAvey of Rutland and Joe Poulin and his wife, Cadance and his niece, Ainsley and nephew, Sean all of Auburn; his grandparents, Carol and Del Hilton of Rutland, Franny Poulin of Grafton and Howard and Jeanne Borggaard of Shrewsbury; several aunts and uncles, including Diane Borggaard, Heather Hilton, Jason and Elizabeth Hilton, Jeffrey Borggaard and his wife, Lizette Zietsman, Debbie Poulin and Frank Poulin; many cousins; and his best friend, Alex Dotsenko of Rutland.
Brad attended Bay Path Vocational High School and was a manager at Rutland Pizza for over a year. He loved the outdoors, animals and mostly loved being with his brothers and shooting at the range. He collected survival items and was a survival enthusiast. He especially enjoyed electronics and was a true gamer. He will be remembered for his humor, unconditional love and compassion. Brad will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Brad’s family from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, January 31st in the Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. The funeral service for Brad will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1st in the funeral home, followed by burial at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
