WORCESTER – Blossom R. (Gurwitz) Zabarsky, 96, a resident of Eisenberg Assisted Living at 631 Salisbury Street, Worcester died at St. Vincent Hospital on Friday, December 29, 2017.Her husband of 56 years, Charles H. Zabarsky died in 1998. She leaves a daughter, Marsha Zabarsky of Jamaica Plain; a daughter-in-law, Temie Zabarsky of Phoenix; a son-in-law, Jay Kaminsky of Newington, Connecticut; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Alan P. Zabarsky, her daughter, Donna H. Kaminsky, and her two brothers, Dr. Arnold Gurwitz and Harvey Gurwitz.She was born in Worcester, a daughter of William and Ida (Snyder) Gurwitz and was a lifelong resident.She graduated from Classical High School and Framingham State Teacher’s College.She taught home economics for two years prior to her marriage.She was a member of Temple Emanuel and its Sisterhood, Worcester Chapter of Hadassah, Worcester Art Museum and was a life member of The Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish Healthcare Center.FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:00 AM ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31ST AT CONGREGATION BETH ISRAEL AT 15 JAMESBURY DRIVE IN WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will follow at B’Nai Brith Cemetery, Worcester.Immediately following the interment service a Memorial Observance will be held at Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence, 631 Salisbury Street, Worcester.Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
