NORTH BROOKFIELD – Blanche M. (Ellis) McCauley, 87, of 65 New Braintree Road, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 67 years, William E. McCauley; a son, Roger “Skip” D. McCauley and his wife Darlene of Holden; a daughter, JoAnn Blodgett and her husband Ronald of Lancaster; a sister, Louise Johnson and her husband Gordon of Holden; seven grandchildren, Kim, Tammy, Candace, William, Debora, Jennifer and Pamela; seven great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Brendan, Ryan, Nathan, Eli, Daniel and Elly. Her son, Leroy “Cap” McCauley, died in 1954. She was born in Holden the daughter of Roy and Ethel (Wilbur) Ellis and lived many years in Holden and 32 years in North Brookfield.
Mrs. McCauley enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and miniature poodle, “Taddy”. Crocheting, sewing and gardening were among some of her favorite past-times, as well as helping those in need.
The funeral service for Mrs. McCauley will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Brookfield EMS, P.O. Box 73, North Brookfield, MA 01535.
