COLUMBIA, SC - Blanche (Khedouri) Feldman, 91, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia, SC, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, after an illness. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, she was the cherished daughter of David and Flora (Meir) Khedouri. Blanche spent the last 20 years of her life in Columbia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph M. Feldman, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship.
Blanche will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Sharon Salem of New Haven, CT; her two sons, Dr. Barry Feldman of Columbia, SC and Edward Feldman of Shrewsbury, MA; her brother, Isaac Khedouri of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Drs. David, Samuel, Susan, and Benjamin Feldman, and Rachel and Dr. Daniel Salem; and two great-grandchildren, Lucy Chen Feldman and Owen Feldman. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Rachel Ladd.
Blanche's journey took her from Iraq and Iran to Forest Hills, NY, at the age of 14. In 1956, she settled in Worcester, where she raised her family before relocating to Columbia in 2004. She dedicated her career as a medical transcriptionist, contributing her expertise to the former Worcester City Hospital and UMass Memorial Medical Center - Lake Avenue Campus. Blanche and Ralph were longtime members of Congregation Beth Israel in Worcester.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, February 5, at the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will follow at B'nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
