PRINCETON/WORCESTER – William "Bill" H. Erickson, 64, of Elm Street, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Marlborough Hospital after an illness.
He leaves three sons, Leif W. Erickson of Gorham, ME, Michael K. Erickson of Worcester and Mark C. Erickson of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Dianne B. Majewski, wife of Robert of York, ME and Clermont, FL; three nieces, Robyn Majewski of Worcester, Terry Murphy of Skaneateles, NY and Tammy Poulin of Windham, ME; and a nephew, Robert J. Majewski II of Raleigh, NC. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Herbert and Florence (Nyman) Erickson. He lived in Princeton for 53 years and most recently resided in Worcester.
Mr. Erickson graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1963 and served with the U.S. Army's 56th Artillery Division in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966. After returning home from the service, he joined his family's heating oil business, H.W. Erickson Oil Co., which he owned and operated until 1995. He most recently, along with his son Michael, owned and operated Erickson Associates in Worcester. He was a member and past president of the National Association of Oil Heat Service Managers. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid golfer, belonging to many local leagues.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 1 Union Street #301, Robbinsville NJ 08691-4183.
