Biography
LEOMINSTER – Bilida Decena-Joseph, at the age of 69, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 11, 2012. After a long battle with gastric cancer, she was under the loving care of her family and the staff at Leominster Healthcare Alliance Hospice. Born in Boca Banica, Dominican Republic, to Cencion and Aurellia (Liriano) Decena. In 1983, Bilida moved to the United States in search of a better life with her kids, where she later retired in Leominster.

Bilida was multi-faceted in all areas of her life. Very loving, caring, and hardworking along with a great sense of compassion and generosity. She was a respectable caretaker at UMass Memorial Healthcare and a faithful Seventh-day Adventist member of the College Church, in South Lancaster.

She is survived and greatly missed by her son, Adlai Decena of Leominster; her daughter, Yoline Jacobs of West Palm Beach, FL; also a granddaughter, Valerie Jo Decena of Orlando, FL; three brothers and three sisters; many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services held for Bilida will be in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. In respect for the family, private burial will take place at Reservoir Pines Cemetery in Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The College Church of Seventh-day Adventist at Atlantic Union College, P.O. Box 877, South Lancaster, MA 01561-0877, www.thecollegechurch.com .
