Beverly Ann (Thompson) Plucinski

December 31, 1927 — April 14, 2012

WORCESTER - Beverly Ann (Thompson) Plucinski, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Bev was born in Holden, the daughter of George and Dorothy (McCrillis) Thompson of Princeton. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Walter P. Plucinski, who passed away November 8, 2011. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Chris and John Kalen of Arvada, CO., Dot and Mike Gleason of Holden, Paul and Pat Plucinski of South Dennis, Kae Plucinski and Karen Taylor of Worcester, and Pete and Katey Plucinski of Hudson, her grandchildren, Terri, Doug, Callie and her husband Michael, Daniel, Kevin, Timothy, Shirley, Kara, Kellie, Benjamin, Christopher; her great-grandchildren, Damond, Everyn and Trinity; cousins, Bob Mansfield and Ronald Thompson, niece, Elizabeth “Biff” Wheeler and nephew, David Thompson. She is also predeceased by her infant children, Paula and George and her siblings, Florence “Bunny” Ward, George Jr. “Butch” and nephew, Calvin Ward.



She attended Princeton Center School and graduated from North High School in Worcester. She also attended Boston University, Clark University and graduated from the former Wilson School of Medical Technology in Boston.



Bev was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Greater Worcester Board of Realtors, co-owner with her husband of West Side Realty for many years, a volunteer and board member of Abby’s House shelter for homeless women and their children, a member of the Worcester County Horticultural Society, member of the former Tatnuck Woman’s Club, and a member and officer of Tatnuck Garden Club. She was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Tatnuck Square having served as assistant treasurer for many years, serving on numerous boards and committees, was active in Youth Fellowship, a Girl Scout Leader and camping consultant for many years.



She was an avid antique collector, exhuberant fan of the Red Sox, enjoyed reading, gardening, painting, was an animal lover, especially her faithful cat “Miss Martha”. She always looked forward to getaways at “The Cape”. Most importantly, Bev loved spending time with her family.

We will all miss the sparkle in her eyes, her welcoming smile and optimistic attitude. “Catch ya on the other side”.



Relatives and friends may visit with Bev’s family from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 20, with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Abby’s House Wish List, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
