RUTLAND/HOLDEN – Beverly J. (Cole) Braconnier, 80, died on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. Mrs. Braconnier was born in Worcester on November 5, 1930, the daughter of Daniel D. and Frances G. (Ward) Cole and lived in Rutland for many years before moving to Holden in 2004.
Her loving husband of 55 years, Paul G. Braconnier died in 2006. Mrs. Braconnier is survived by her two daughters, Diane Frechette-Hopkins and her partner Richard Linnon of North Brookfield and Denise O’Loughlin and her husband Steven of Lancaster; a grandson, Aaron Frechette and his wife Kim of North Brookfield; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Braconnier was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Cole, her half-sister, Alberta Bricknell and her grandson, Toby Frechette.
Mrs. Braconnier worked at Mechanics Bank in Worcester and later worked as a manager at Hebert’s Candy Store in Sterling. Mrs. Braconnier was a gifted singer and loved to sing in the choir at Saint Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling. She especially enjoyed singing at weddings in the church and was broadcast on the radio. Mrs. Braconnier was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Rutland and was well known there for her many crocheted afghans that she made for the annual church turkey raffle.
The family of Mrs. Braconnier would like to thank the nursing staff at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for the wonderful care she received as a resident there.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 27th, in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, P.O. Box 939, Rutland, MA 01543.
