HOLDEN – Bettie V. (Goulding) Sandquist, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Ellen Virginia (Gustafson) and Thomas Stoddard Goulding, Sr. and had lived most of her life in Holden. Mrs. Sandquist graduated from Holden High School and graduated from Clark University, Summa cum laude. She worked many years at the Wachusett Regional High School Library and for MacShawson Insurance Agency. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Worcester, was a leader of their Graduates; an active senior Church Fellowship group; served on several of its boards and committees. She also was a very proud member of the Quota Club. She loved traveling extensively all over the world with her husband and spending time with family. Her loving husband of 60 years, Eric W. Sandquist, passed away in 2011. She leaves two daughters, Laurie A. Grabenstein and her husband, John of Collegeville, PA and The Rev. Janet V. Sandquist Skagerlind and her husband, Paul of Templeton; her brother, Thomas Stoddard Goulding, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Scarborough, Maine; five grandchildren, Emily, Annie, Erica and Peter Grabenstein and Emmalise Skagerlind; three nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Ellen Sandquist.
