Biography
RUTLAND – Bertha J. (Maynard) Parmenter, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 15, 2015 after an illness.
Her loving husband of 36 years, George H. Parmenter, passed away in 1983. She leaves her son, Dennis W. Parmenter and his companion, Jackie Tallman of Rutland; her daughter, Sharon H. Parmenter of Spencer; her granddaughter, Ethel Bacon and her husband, Justin of Pepperell; two great granddaughters, Kera and Kaylee Bacon; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Parmenter and a brother, Charles Maynard.
Bertha was born in Quinebaug, CT, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Converse) Maynard and had lived in Rutland since 1953. She was a housekeeper for 26 years at the Jewish Home in Worcester before retiring in 2005.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
