SOUTH CHATHAM/WORCESTER – Bernard “Bud” Schultz, age 83, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 30th. 2024 at Cape Cod Hospital, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.

Born in Worcester, Bud was the son of Milton and Judith (Friedman) Schultz, and lived most of his life in Central Massachusetts, before moving to South Chatham years ago. After graduating from Classical High School, he earned a Bachelor's Degree from UMASS Amherst, eventually graduating from Columbia University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Bud was also proud of his military service, commissioned as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Calcaterra during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he entered the family business, Schultz Lubricants, Inc., which he owned and operated for many years. A dedicated member of Temple Emanuel Sinai, Bud was honored to serve as a Past-President of the congregation.

Bernard will be lovingly missed and remembered by his beloved wife of 52 years, Regina J. (Aurrichone) Schultz of South Chatham; his sons, Eugene Schultz and his wife, Lynne of Swampscott, and Marc Schultz of New York City; his daughter, Melinda Schultz of Los Angeles; his brother, Robert Schultz of MA; his sister, Elaine Friedman of NH; and his cherished grandchildren, Emory and Savannah Schultz.

Family and friends will gather for a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2nd at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Immediately following the interment service, the family invites everyone to a Memorial Observance Reception at the home of Dr Ivan and Dr. Noreen Green, until 6:00 PM. Memorial Observance will continue on Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the home of Lynne and Eugene Schultz. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Veteran’s Inc, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605 ( www.veteransinc.com ), Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609 ( www.emanuelsinai.org ), or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
