Biography
HOLDEN – Bernadette D. (Doyle) Boyce, passed away at the age of 93 on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus. She was born in Cambridge and lived in Holden for the past 67 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald R. Boyce, Sr., who died in 1982, their son, Thomas, granddaughter, Brianna Emma Boyce, and grandson, Christopher John Boyce.
Mrs. Boyce was very active in the community in her younger years starting, with her husband, the first Cub Scout Troop in Holden. She also was the first president of the women’s guild at St. George Church in Worcester and was the business manager and treasurer of Donald R. Boyce Architects, Inc. of Holden, until her retirement in 1994.
She leaves her four children, Donald R. Boyce, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Hampton, VA, Trudy A. Powell and her husband Skip of Satellite Beach, FL, John E. Boyce and his wife Meg of Holden, with whom she lived for the past four years, and Regina M. Muccio and her husband Angelo of Northborough; a nephew, Thomas F. Doyle and his wife Dee of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, at St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, with a committal service following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holden.
