BOCA RATON - Beatrice Fradkin Weiser née Taylor, 101, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2022, with her daughter Ann by her side. Beatrice, or Bea, as she was known by friends, was predeceased by her parents, Anna (Davis) and Louis Taylor, and brothers, Sidney and Harold Taylor.
Beatrice was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on April 30, 1921 and is survived by her three children: Ann Fradkin-Hayslip (Will), David Fradkin (Joan), and Frank Fradkin (Bev). She also leaves behind grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as Grammy, Grandma Bea, or Nana; Luke Hayslip (Danielle), Aaron Fradkin (Victoria), Emily Dethloff (Joe), and Shayna Landon (Matthew), and four great grandchildren. Beatrice was a frequent school volunteer during Luke’s elementary years. The two had a special relationship that spanned three decades.
Throughout her lifetime, Beatrice worked a variety of office managerial jobs, but always spoke fondly of her days as a fraud analyst with American Express. Beatrice moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1987, where she became an active part of the community and developed a strong and loyal network of friends. In her later years, Bea was actively involved as a volunteer at the Louis and Anne Green Memory & Wellness Center, operated by Florida Atlantic University’s College of Nursing, in Boca Raton. In 2019, at the age of 98, Beatrice was featured in an NBC segment highlighting her 14 years of volunteerism and calls to action for people to become more involved in their community. . She had been honored several times by Palm Beach County for her consistent and dedicated volunteer endeavors.
Fiercely dedicated to social justice, Beatrice followed politics closely and believed in equity for all. She liked to garden, taking great pride in her plants, reading, and completing word puzzles. She also enjoyed watching real-life mysteries on television. Beatrice believed that staying active, helping others, and staying socially connected was the key to a long and meaningful life.
Family will gather for a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at B'nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Road Worcester. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
In lieu of flowers or other tokens of affection, the family asks that you make a donation to Trustbridge Hospice in Beatrice Weiser’s name. Trustbridge was there to make the difficult process of saying goodbye as loving, peaceful and dignified as possible. A link to donate can be found here:
