Beatrice (Thompson) Brooks

PRINCETON – Beatrice “Betty” (Thompson) Brooks, 87, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after an illness.
Her husband of 56 years, Roger H. Brooks, Sr., passed away in 2003. She leaves two sons, Roger H. Brooks, Jr. and his wife Kate of North Brookfield and David I. Brooks and his wife Barbara of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire; a brother, James Thompson and his wife Betty of Charlestown, New Hampshire; a sister, Margaret Valiton of Fitchburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. A sister, Gladys Bowers, predeceased her.
Betty was born in Holden, the daughter of C. Howard and Mary A. (Wheeler) Thompson. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. She worked at Colonial Press in Clinton before retiring from Reed Plastics in Holden. Betty was a member of the Princeton Council on Aging and loved spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Woodlawn Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton Council on Aging, 6 Town Hall Drive, Princeton, MA 01541.
