HOLDEN – Joy B. (Brill) Keskula, 80, of Malden Street, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2010 after an illness.
Her husband of 35 years, James R. Keskula, died in 1986. She is survived by three sons, Robert J. Keskula and his wife Faith of Holden, Douglas W. Keskula and his wife Janice of Jefferson and David J. Keskula and his wife Deborah of Boylston; and two daughters, Linda J. Walsh and her husband Jeremiah of Southborough and Debra K. Bohringer and her husband Karl of Oxford, New York. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joy was born in Lynn, the daughter of Donald H. and Doris T. (Tufts) Brill and has lived in Holden for 30 years. She was a graduate of Malden High School and received an Associate's Degree in Art from Boston University.
Joy worked for Worcester County Institution for Savings (WCIS) for many years, retiring as a Branch Manager in 1992. She was a 30-year member of Chaffin Congregational Church where she sang in the choir and was the Church Secretary for eight years. She was a member of the Friends of the Holden Council on Aging, volunteered at the Holden Senior Center and at town elections.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 21st, in Chaffin Congregational Church, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520; or a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
