HOLDEN – Mary B. (Breen) Jones, 87, of Homestead Road, died peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2009 in the Oakdale Rehab. and Skilled Nursing Center, West Boylston.
She leaves her husband of 64 years, Leo F. Jones, a resident of Notre Dame du Lac; a son, William F. Jones and his wife Barbara of Martha's Vineyard; three daughters, Kathleen M. Turner and her husband Dennis of Dayton, Ohio, Susan A. Valiga of Philadelphia and Terese M. Webb and her husband John of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; a sister, June Brown of Hudson, Florida; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Three sisters and three brothers predeceased her.
Mary was born in Worcester, a daughter of Michael J. and Hanna M. (Mara) Breen, and lived in Holden for 55 years. She was a Horace Mann Scholar and graduate of Commerce High School. She was a member of St. George's Church, enjoyed word puzzles, square dancing and listening to the Boston Red Sox.
A memorial Mass for the residents of Notre Dame du Lac will be held in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24th. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Notre Dame du Lac, Patient Activities Fund, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
