WORCESTER - Bastri Begaj, 68, of Worcester succumbed to injuries after being stricken by a vehicle on Salisbury Street on Friday, September 27, 2019.
Born in Vlora, Albania, Bastri was a son of the late Osman and Hajre (Bullaj) Begaj and moved to Worcester in 2016. He worked in the construction industry in Albania for many years before moving to Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Shqiponja (Nonaj) Begaj; 4 sons, Alban and Fatjon Begaj, both of Greece, Marenglen Begaj of Worcester, and Mirjan Begaj of Albania; a brother, Perparim Begaj of Greece; 3 sisters, Shano Bodo of New York, Mergjyze Rucaj and Aspria Mehmeti, both of Albania, and 7 Grandchildren. A sister, Mersyrete Lulaj predeceased him.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Bastri’s family on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:30AM at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Fr. Mark Docu, will follow immediately at 10:30AM. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
