HOLDEN – A. Barbara (Humes) Carlson, 80, of Shrewsbury Street, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, in Tatnuck Park Assisted Living, Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband, Edward W. Carlson died in 1984. She leaves her son, Stephen E. Carlson of Holden; a daughter, Joan F. Lawson and her husband Scott of Holden; five grandchildren, Amber, David, Nicole, Jennifer and Marisa; and a great-grandson, Kyle. A brother, Jack Humes, predeceased her. She was born in Holden, daughter of Harold F. and Alice L. (Carrigan) Humes and lived here all of her life.
Mrs. Carlson graduated from Holden High School and worked many years at Worcester County National Bank retiring in 1991. After her retirement she worked part time in the computer education department at the Worcester County Jail in Boylston. She was a member of St. George’s Church and volunteered at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden.
The funeral for Mrs. Carlson will be held on Wednesday, December 27, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1325 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, in the funeral home.
