Barbara V. (Trefethen) Whitney

PAXTON – Barbara V. (Trefethen) Whitney, 83, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.
Her husband of 31 years, Francis M. Whitney, passed away in 1983. She leaves a son, Gary S. Whitney of North Kingstown, RI; two daughters, Cynthia J. Poole of Spencer and Cathleen J. Jones of Ware; a brother, Edwin F. Trefethen of Fairborn, OH; several nephews and nieces. A brother, Hugh E. Trefethen and a sister, Gloria Lamoureux, predeceased her.
Barbara was born in Worcester, the daughter of Hugh E. and Mabel K. (Burke) Trefethen and had lived in Worcester before moving to Paxton in 1958. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and worked at the Davis Press Inc. both of Worcester.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. A committal service will be held at a later date at the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Please omit flowers. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
