RUTLAND - Barbara M. (Sidloski) Quiry, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester. Barbara was born in Worcester, the daughter of Stanley and Josephine (Giofreda) Sidloski and lived in Rutland for many years.
Her husband of 48 years, Robert J. Quiry passed away in 2013. Barbara is survived by her son, Robert Quiry and his wife, Darlene of Paxton; her daughter, Lynn M. Quiry and her partner, Peter Eichhorn of Greenwood, ME; her grandchildren, Jasmin, Shana, Adam, Joey, Spencer, Benjamin, Matthew and Andrew; three great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She married the love of her life, Robert J. Quiry in 1965. They lived in the Worcester area for several years eventually settling in Rutland. Barbara worked as an Administrative Assistant in several area businesses retiring in 2008 from UMass. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Church in Rutland and had been active in the Sisters of Isabella there. She enjoyed spending time at the Rutland Senior Center, serving as Treasurer for a time and helping to organize the Pitch tournaments. She leaves many friends there. Barbara had a passion for crafts and made jewelry, stuffed animals and other treasures that she shared with others. She also had a love for music. She sang in her Church Choir and played guitar, travelling to local nursing homes with other members of her church singing and playing gospel songs. Her legacy of love and devotion to family lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial calling hours from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service honoring and celebrating her life on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
