PAXTON - Barbara A. (Knight) Scholl, 89, of Paxton, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Her husband of 49 years, Charles J. Scholl (Chuck), predeceased her in 2007.
She leaves a daughter, Amy A. Halloran and her husband, Terence of Northborough; two sons, John A. Scholl and his wife, Sherry of San Ramon, CA, and Christopher C. Scholl and his wife, Maureen of Hopkinton; a sister, Carole Hogan of North Grafton; a sister-in-law Jane Tebeau of East Grand Rapids, MI; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Barbara was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Russell and Mildred (Olson) Knight and has lived in Paxton for the last 65 years. She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester.
Mrs. Scholl worked at Wyman Gordon in Worcester where she met Chuck. After many years as a homemaker, she returned to work and served as the Executive Secretary to the Selectmen in the town of Paxton for many years, retiring in 1997. Barbara volunteered for many years as a CCD teacher and for the Altar Society and Bereavement Committee at St. Columba Parish in Paxton.
She will be fondly remembered as loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished family get-togethers and welcomed everyone to her table.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 26th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 27th, at St. Columba Parish, 10 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Columba’s Parish.
