WORCESTER – Barbara Marie Minor, 69, of Worcester died peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016 under the loving care of her family and the staff at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester.
She leaves her three sisters, Anne L. Monahan and her husband, Michael of Harwichport, Cecilia E. Murphy and her husband, Brian of Paxton, Marjorie J. Misiewicz and her husband, Robert of Kernersville, North Carolina; her nieces, Kara A. Suthard and her husband, Paul of Sebastian, Florida, Katherine M. and Elizabeth M. Misiewicz both of Kernersville, North Carolina; a nephew, Philip B. Murphy of Boston; and one grandniece, Corin Suthard of Sebastian, Florida. She also leaves Carol Whitnett, a dear friend, neighbor and helper during the last years of her life.
Barbara was born in Worcester, a devoted daughter of Philip and Gertrude A. Minor. She graduated from St. Anne’s Academy in Marlborough and Salter Secretarial School in Worcester. She retired from work at Arbella Insurance after 30 years of service in Worcester and Westborough.
Barbara had a wonderful sense of humor and was a simple and gentle soul who loved animals.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15 am on December 29, at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will be held privately at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
