Barbara L. (Thayer) Pratt

SPRINGFIELD,VERMONT / WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS – Barbara L. (Thayer) Pratt, 86, formerly of Holden and Worcester, died Thursday, December 1, 2005, in Worcester, in the Christopher House after a brief illness.

Her husband, Horace G. Pratt, died in 1978. She leaves her son, William Pratt of San Francisco, California; a sister, Mabel Stone of Springfield, Vermont; and nieces and nephews. A son, Jeffrey Pratt, and a sister, Janice Davis, predeceased her.

Mrs. Pratt was born in Windsor, Vermont, daughter of Frank L. and Mabel (Nichols) Thayer, and was raised in Springfield, Vermont. She was a former member of Hillcrest Country Club in Leicester and played at Holden Hills Country Club. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Cavendish Bridge Club in Worcester; and was an active swimmer at the Jewish Community Center and the YMCA.

A memorial service for Mrs. Pratt will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
