SHREWSBURY – Barbara L. Lantz, 63, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, June 25, 2007 in her home after protracted health problems.
She is survived by a son, Bryan Lantz of Chatham; a brother, David Lantz of Newark, Ohio; three nephews; and her companion, Ronald Fogg. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Paul and Ethel (Stohlberg) Lantz. She was educated in Shrewsbury and Princeton schools and was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School in Holden. She attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage and enjoyed Swedish cooking and handicrafts. During the 1970s, Barbara won numerous sports car rallies behind the wheel of her 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk. III.
From the mid-1960s on, she worked in a variety of computer-related jobs for Sprague Electric, Worcester; Colonial Press, Clinton; the City of Worcester; and Digital Equipment Corp., Northboro. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Worcester and a member of the Vasa Order of America, Nordic Lodge No. 611.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 in Epworth United Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial we be in Peoples Cemetery, Chatham, at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 64 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
