Biography
HOLDEN - Barbara M. (Kyes) Flagg, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late John F. and Geraldine E. (Conroy) Kyes.
Barbara was a longtime resident of West Boylston before moving to Holden to live with her daughter and her family. She spent many years working with her family at their business, Flagg RV of West Boylston and Uxbridge and was a constant presence in the office until recently. Barbara loved visiting the beach, doing puzzles and enjoyed many hours reading. She was a woman with an incredibly dry wit and was known for her quick comments, even during her own illness. Barbara’s greatest gift was the love and support she showered on her family and friends. When her grandchildren arrived, her world was focused on them. She was a tremendous support and presence for them all. She will be forever lovingly missed.
Barbara leaves her four children, Brigitte Flagg and her fiancé, Tim Montalto of Jefferson, Joanne Osgood and her husband, Michael, with whom she lived, Steven Flagg and his wife, Julie of Sterling and Michael Flagg and his wife, Jamie of Jefferson; her brother, Robert Kyes of Florida; her nine grandchildren, Lindsey, Anna, Abby, Nicholas, Greg, Isabel, Nathan, Lucas and Max; her great granddaughter, Rosie May; and her former husband, Maro P. Flagg, Jr. of Sutton.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family on Wednesday, March 23, from 4-7 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service honoring and celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Thursday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
