Barbara J. (Jaibur) King

September 18, 1931 — November 25, 2005

STERLING – Barbara J. (Jaibur) King, 74 of 10 Karen Drive, formally of Burlington, Vermont, died Friday, November 25, 2005, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.

Her husband, Harvey J. King, died in 1997. She leaves three sons, Gregory M. King and his wife Carolyn of Sterling, Kenneth J. King and his wife Jill of Essex, Vermont, Randy J. King and his wife Laurie of North Dartmouth; a daughter, Julie Hiltabiddle of Newburyport; a sister, Beverly Murphy and her husband Peter of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Colleen Jaibur of St. Albans, Vermont; 13 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Gerald P. Jaibur, predeceased her. She was born and in Burlington, daughter of Louis and Julia (Simon) Jaibur, and was raised in Winooski, Vermont and lived eight years in Sterling. She was a 1948 graduated of Cathedral High School in Burlington.

Barbara and her husband owned and operated several businesses in Burlington including, My Place By Harvey, King’s Kove and the Village Eatery. She was a former member of St Mark’s Church in Burlington, a member of the Vermont Retail Grocer’s Association and was active at the Sterling Senior Center. She was known as “Gramma King” by her extended family.

Calling hours for Mrs. King will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 28, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, in St. Stephen’s Church, 115 Barlow Street, Winooski. Burial will follow in Resurrection Park, 200 Hinesburg Road, South Burlington, Vermont. Memorial donations may be made to UMass Memorial Home Healthcare, 43 Harvard Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
