STERLING – Barbara H. (Vasil) Belisle, 72, of 20 East Park Road, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2005 in Worcester Medical Center.
She leaves her beloved husband of 36 years, Rene J. Belisle; her beloved son, Jeffrey J. Belisle and his wife Linda of Southborough; four beautiful grandchildren, Steven, Zachary, Lance, and Caralyn Belisle all of Southborough; her friend and sister, Dianna Kaplanes of Worcester; her brothers, Nick Vasil of Worcester and Henry Vasil of Westwood; her Goddaughter and niece, Kasandra Kaplanes of California; her nieces and nephews, James Vasil of Manchester, NH, Pamela Vasil Sagarian of Paxton,
Michael Vasil of Walpole, Thomas Kaplanes of Charlestown, Peter Vasil of Norwood, Stefany Kaplanes of California; her grandnieces and nephews, Amanda and Johnny Sagarian of Paxton, Amanda and Tommy Vasil of Walpole; and her many friends and relatives who loved her. She was born in Framingham, the daughter of Peter and Alexandra (Ikonomi) Vasil. She was raised in Worcester, graduated from Commerce High School, and moved to Sterling in 1970.
Mrs. Belisle was an Executive Assistant at Washburn Company and Lawrence McCoy Lumber. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for BlueCross BlueShield and Vaida Adjustment Services, retiring in 2002. She was very active in the Albanian American National Organization, a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and its Mothers Guild, and danced with an Albanian Dance Group years ago. She loved reading to her grandchildren, playing her organ and singing. She was a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
The funeral service for Mrs. Belisle will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21, in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A Trisagion Service will be at 4:30 p.m. during calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
