RUTLAND - Barbara Lee (Marshall) Hardaker, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Eldon and Ida (Vinton) Marshall.
Barbara graduated from Westborough High School and went on to further her education at Framingham State College. She worked as a dietary aid for Worcester Health Center for over 30 years. Barbara had a passion for traveling. Over the years, her travels led her to Hawaii, Bermuda, Alaska and the Caribbean as well as many other destinations. Barbara attended the Orthodox Congregational Church in Petersham for many years and was a member of the Grange in both Petersham and Holden. Barbara was an avid reader, and she enjoyed the outdoors where she could often be found hiking and swimming.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her two children, Sandra L. Hargrave and her husband, Thomas of Millbury and Marshall R. Hardaker of Bellefonte, PA; her two sisters, Louise Jordan of Rutland, and Elaine Doherty of Wayland; and her grandchildren, Kendal and Jacob Hargrave.
Relatives are invited to visit with the family from 11 to 12 p.m. on Monday, December 19 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rutland Counsel on Aging, 53 Glenwood Road, Rutland, MA 01543.
