HOLDEN – Barbara Jane (Flagg) Hyson, 70, of Holden, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on June 25, 2017. Born in Worcester, Barbara was one of three daughters to George and Lily Astrid (Johnson) Flagg. She was raised in Auburn moving to Holden more than 45 years ago.
Barbara graduate from Auburn High School, and married the love of her life, Dennis, in 1965. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10th of this year. Barbara and Dennis enjoyed cruising throughout the Caribbean. The two would go whenever they had the opportunity and cruised together over 60 times.
Besides her husband, Dennis, Barbara leaves her son, Timothy G. Hyson and his wife, Susan of Southbridge; her daughter, Heidi Bow and her husband, Kevin of Leicester; her two sisters, Carol Acoin of Holden and Susan Kennedy of Charlton; eight grandchildren, Krystal, Kyle, Timothy, Sean, Christopher, Paul, Joshua and Benjamin; three great grandchildren, Stella, Scarlett and Brey; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A service to honor and remember Barbara’s life will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Life-Skills, Inc., 44 Morris Street, Webster, MA 01570, whose mission is to, “recognize, promote and support all persons affiliated with the organization in the pursuit and achievement of their goals and interests while encouraging independence, personal growth and satisfaction to enhance their quality of life.
