STERLING -- Barbara Claire (Cranson) Chellel, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 13, 2021, in the presence of her loving family. Born at Farren Memorial Hospital, Montague, Massachusetts Barbara was the daughter of Albert and Natalie (Greene) Cranson and for 43 years lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania before moving to Sterling in 2004.
Barbara's husband of 38 years, Harry Chellel died in 1995. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Lynn D. Chellel Morgan and her husband, Patrick; her son, David A. Chellel and his wife, Jeannine of New Hope, PA; grandchildren Justine (husband Steele David) Spence, Nathaniel (fiancée Tracy Resnick), three brothers, Kenneth and Donald Cranson both of Sterling and Carroll Cranson of Georgia; twin great-grandchildren, Fraser and Blaise Spence; nephews and nieces. Besides her husband, Barbara is predeceased by a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Brodrick.
Barbara was a graduate of Bryant College and worked as an assistant special needs teacher while raising her children. She was an active member of Addisville Dutch Reformed Church of Richboro, PA, and Oakdale United Methodist Church in West Boylston. Barbara was an avid golfer and was a past president of the Women's Golf Association of Philadelphia. She enjoyed playing bridge, loved a good laugh, and was loved by all.
A memorial service honoring Barbara's life will be held at 1 pm on Monday, August 16, at Oakdale United Methodist Church, 15 N. Main St., West Boylston. All are welcome and invited to stay for a repast immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oakdale United Methodist Church, 15 N.
