Barbara L. Carlson

Worcester/Dennis - Barbara (Lewis) (Reiman) Carlson, a resident of Dennis for 40 years, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Lutheran Rehab & Skilled Care Center in Worcester at the age of 103.

Mrs. Carlson was born and educated in Wells, Vermont and attended school in Wells and Granville, NY, graduating with honors from Granville High School. She also attended Fairchild Office School in Worcester.

Mrs. Carlson was employed by the University of Massachusetts Medical School (now known at UMass Memorial Medical Center) in Worcester prior to her moving to Cape Cod in 1977 where she was employed as the Administrative Secretary at Cape Cod Hospital until her retirement in 1981. She was also a secretary for Bay Green Condominiums in Dennis where she resided for many years, as well as secretary to Attorney Charles Crowell in Dennis from 1997 to 2016.

She is predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Reiman to whom she was married for 35 years and Alfred A. Carlson to whom she was married for 19 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Christine A. Huard, wife of Robert Huard of Worcester and Roberta J. Northway of Dennis; her stepson, Jay A. Carlson of Whitewright, TX; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 26 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Harwich at a later date. Mrs. Carlson was a Charter member of the church and member of the Esther Circle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 310 MA-137, Harwich, MA 02645.
