Barbara Bulfinch

RUTLAND - Barbara Bulfinch, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, after an illness. She was born in Holden, the daughter of Malcolm and Ruth (Montcalm) Bulfinch and had lived most of her life in Rutland.

She leaves her sister, Bette Peloquin of Princeton; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Shemeth, Carol Morgan, and Marilyn Cahill and her brother, Robert Bulfinch.

After graduating from Rutland High School, Barbara attended Becker Junior College. She worked at Paul Revere Life Insurance Company in Worcester for 40 years and she also worked for the Visiting Nurses Association. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling to Europe, especially Switzerland.

Barbara's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by her caregiver, Theresa Smith.

A graveside service for Barbara will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28th at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rutland Free Public Library, 280 Main Street, Rutland, MA 01543.
