Barbara M. (Stone) Braley

June 6, 1940 — March 29, 2024

PAXTON - Barbara M. Braley died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 29th, 2024. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of George and Sally Stone. She moved to Paxton in 1966 and lived there until her death.

She leaves her two sons, Mark D. Braley and his wife MaryEllen of Holden; Matthew T. Braley and his wife Gillian of Paxton; her daughter, Laura A. Sefton and her husband, Jay of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Meghan P., Lucas D., and Carolyn M. Braley; her sister-in-law, Catherine Stone; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Stone.

Barbara obtained her Bachelor of Science from Worcester State College and her Master’s in Library Science from Simmons College. Barbara was the library director of Richards Memorial Library in Paxton and the Grafton Public Library for many years before her retirement. She loved to travel and, over the years, visited England, Scotland, France, and Bermuda, as well as Alaska, Florida, and New England. She loved spending time with her family and was an avid reader and gardener.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10th, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's research organization of your choice.
