GARDNER – Nathan Baer, 92, of Gardner, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011 in the Oakdale Rehab and Nursing Center, West Boylston. He was born on January 3, 1919 in Boston, son of Samuel and Naomi (Kredentser) Baer.
Nathan was a long time resident and a fixture in the City of Gardner. He lived in the Heywood Place apartments for years and was a student at Mount Wachusett Community College. His favorite pastime was taking cruises, talking about his travels and planning the next trip for which he always had his suitcase packed. The folks at Gardner Travel were fond of Nathan and always made sure his trips were well planned. The family believes he had friends all over the world! He decided to acquire a computer to learn yet another skill. He was involved in the Gardner Senior Center and just seemed to keep himself busy with his friends in the local community, the Willis Center and was an active member of the Gardner Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses
He leaves behind his brother, Herbert Baer and his wife Nancy of Weston and their three children.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23rd, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1071 West Street (Rte. 68), Gardner. Burial was private in the Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
