Biography
RUTLAND - B. Diann Lehman “Diann”, 67, of Rutland, died Sunday December 25, 2016 at home after a short battle with cancer. Her partner was by her side.
She was born in PA and grew up in Arlington, VA. She worked as an English teacher for many years in VA before moving to MA. After her move to MA she worked as a technical editor for various companies. She met her partner of 36 years, Dorrie Hutchins, in 1981 and they shared a home in Worcester, MA. They later moved to Rutland, MA where they lived for 25 years.
In Rutland, Diann was on the Conservation Commission for several years and enjoyed it. Diann had many interests including reading a wide variety of subjects, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and constantly learning and challenging the status quo. She adored all animals and found great pleasure in the cats and dogs she and her partner had, as well as enjoying the wildlife in the back yard of their Rutland home. A private funeral service will be held at a later date under the direction of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
