PAXTON – William A. Wall, Jr., 81, of 2 Burtenmar Circle, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 in The Meadows of Leicester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 17 years, Ann (Beach) Sherman Wall; two sons, William A. Wall III of Sarasota, Florida and Peter J. Wall of Bradenton, Florida; two stepsons, Bryan L. Sherman of Beverly and William G. Sherman of Greenbrook, New Jersey; a grandson, Patrick J. Wall, and two step-grandchildren, Michael and David Sherman. Three siblings, Anita, Donald, and Carolyn predeceased him.
Mr. Wall graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, and then in the U.S. Army in post-war Germany. He worked for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for over 20 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, September 7th, in the Miles Funeral home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701; or the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
