Biography

WORCESTER – Audrey J. (Lieder) Shack, 87, died at home on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Harry and Libby (Barkin) Lieder and lived in Worcester for 67 years.
Her husband of 66 years, Philip Shack, died on December 16, 2016. She leaves two daughters, Jill Shack of Worcester and Wendy wife of Richard Lubkin of Rye Brook, NY; five grandchildren, Julie Birns of Tucson, Arizona, Amanda Roth and her husband, Mark of Dix Hills, New York, Elizabeth Asher and her husband, Ryan of Boston, Benjamin Lubkin of San Francisco and Alexander Lubkin of Rye Brook, New York; two great grandchildren, Emma and Jeremy Roth. She is predeceased by a daughter, Helane Shack; a great-grandson, Jacob Roth; two sisters, Norma Cahn and Sylvia Kranz and a brother, Morton Lieder.
Audrey was a member of Temple Emanuel Sinai and Past President of its Sisterhood. She was appointed to the Area Board of Mental Health, a Past President of the Friends of Retarded and a member of Profits Unlimited. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 PM on Monday, August 7, IN CONGREGATION BETH ISRAEL, 15 JAMESBURY DR, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
Memorial Observance will be held at her residence 7 to 9 PM on Monday, August 7, and 1 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM Tuesday, August 8.
