JEFFERSON – Leo A. Tremblay, 83, of Princeton Street, Jefferson, died peacefully surrounded by his family, on Thursday, July 19, 2007, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Rita M. (Poirier) Tremblay of Jefferson; three sons, Paul F. Tremblay of Deerfield, New Hampshire, John A. Tremblay and his wife Sandra G. of Rutland, and Robert L. Tremblay of Jefferson; a daughter Nancy J. Tremblay of Milton, NH; three grandchildren, Robert L. LeCours of Costa Mema, California, Katherine E. Tremblay and Paul F. Tremblay, Jr. both of Deerfield, New Hampshire; two great grandchildren, Kevin and Alyssa LeCours of Costa Mema, California; a sister, Lucy A. Welsh of Holden; and many nephews and nieces. Four brothers and four sisters predeceased him. He was born and raised in Jefferson, the son of Arthur L. and Lydia (Desjardins) Tremblay, and lived in Jefferson his entire life.
Mr. Tremblay graduated from Holden High School and attended the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He was a patient account manager for Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester for over 20 years, before retiring in 1993. He was on the Board of Directors for St. Vincent Hospital’s Credit Union. He was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus, and a past Grand Knight and a member of the Greendale Men’s Club. He was a lifelong active member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. He loved to travel and camp and spend time with his family.
Funeral services for Mr. Tremblay will be held on Monday, July 23rd, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 22nd, in the funeral home.
