HOLDEN – Cheryl A. (Bagdonovich) Tidman, 50, of Holden passed away at home on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 28 years, E. Charles Tidman III and her children, Eric C. Tidman and Kelsie L. Tidman, who were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves two sisters, Kerry McDermott and her husband Paul of Holden and Donna Balcezak and her husband William of Granby, CT; her brother, Brian Bagdonovich and his wife Rose of Medway; her niece, Allison Balcezak; her nephews, Robert Balcezak and Raymond McDermott. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Carole (Anderson) and Donald P. Bagdonovich, and moved to Holden in 1981.
Cheryl received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Assumption College and a Master's degree from Anna Maria College. Before choosing to stay home to raise her children, she worked at the former Paul Revere Insurance Company. When her children were older, she returned to work as an elementary school teacher, most recently in second grade at Dawson School in Holden. She enjoyed a variety of tropical beach vacations, her annual summer vacations on Martha's Vineyard and daily walks with her friends. But she most enjoyed the time spent with her family - the primary focus of her every day.
Cheryl and her family were grateful for the care she received from Dr. Harrison Ball and the entire staff at The Peter Levine Cancer Center, who through her eight year battle with ovarian cancer provided her not only with excellent care but incredible compassion.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 19th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20th, in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
Donations in Cheryl's memory may be made to the Dawson School PTA, for the Cheryl A. Tidman Book Fund, to be used to provide gifts of her favorite books to Dawson School children. Checks may be mailed to Dawson School, 155 Salisbury Street, Holden, MA 01520.
